The new TS 6550 are worth a try. Even though they are not as good as NOS they will sound alot different from GE. Which you will prefer is a personal choice. Synergy is the goal and that can be acheived many ways. Generally NOS are better but not always. It's hard to beat RCA black plate square getter 12ax7's for clarity, extension and musicality. It's hard to beat the NOS TS 6550 for the same reasons. But the new TS 6550's are good too. GE's are warmer sounding. Alot of people like that too. MY new favorite 5751's are Mazda chrome plates. These sound great in my D76a. I scored 4 of these from zietman.
