I've been using EL34's in my amps since 1974, but recently retubed with 6ca7's.I find, in general that the EL34's are the "purest" in midrange tone, but the 6ca7's are a little more dynamic, and "punchier."
As usual, this may very well be amplifier-dependant.
Anyone else?
