Jim,I have a Cary SLI-50 integrated amp that I purchased in 1997. It was equipped, among other tubes, with red label "National made in Germany" 12AU7/ECC82 tubes. I used these tubes without any problems, and subsequently replaced them with Mullard CV4003 which seemed to me more lively and detailed than National. Since then, I tried RCA 6189 and GE 5814 triple mica tubes with good results, the GE being more colored and RCA more extended. I was recently surpsised when I installed the long neglected National tubes again - they are deep, consistent and detailed. Unfortunately, I cannot post a picture. Could you tell me if they were made by Siemens or RFT?
Thanks in advance!
