Make sure you use the 6HS6 tube or the receiver will lose a lot of sensitivity. In a pinch, only sub are those Westinghouse 5-star 6136s or 6AU6s that measured much higher gain over a standard 6AU6. Even at that, receiver sensitivity will be less.Also stay far away from the ebay listed Mullards 6HS6s that are actually a relabelled from Mullard (not seller) 6BZ6- no kidding. The 6HS6 tubes are becoming rare. I bought spare RCA 6HS6s for my EICO FM tuner.
