Fisher 400 6HS6 vs. 6BA6(?)

I am in mid-rehab of an older Fisher 400. Now, I know this receiver was made for some time, and with some variation. This particular 400 has a 6HS6 (maybe first IF?). The 400 schematic I have -- clearly for a later version, with a silicon bridge for the bias supply rectifiers -- looks like they switched to a 6BA6.
Can anyone shed any light on this change? Just curious, at this point.
