Hey-hey!!!,
I have done a few nice outputs just that way. Take them apart turn by turn, measure the wire, the insulation thickness and type( to name a few ). I bought a Citation II just to get an engineering sample. I haven't taken it apart yet though. Single output TX's are a lot cheaper than pairs, and you only need one.I learned some interesting stuff by examining the construction details. In one particular case, where another well known winder was offering what is claimed to be an exact replica from the original prints, it was easy to see a few cut corners( that were hidden from view in the OEM pot ). With a good, thorough and careful takedown, I can be *VERY* sure none of the construction details get left out without my knowlege when copies are reproduced.
Steve, drop me an email, and I'll give you the rest of the story...:)
cheers,
Douglas
