If my amp, I would just plug them in and look for cherry color plates or a glowing screen wire. If it sound better than 6V6s, next I would measure the filament voltage for an indication of a possible winding over-current condition. Then, I would measure the operating temperature of that power transformer over time. I prefer transformers that operate not exceeding 135 degree F as measured at the top of the transformer.
