Hi Claud,I bought the Mullards from The Tube Store and they called them reissues but you are right they are more like a clone/copy of the original Mullard.
I am using them in a c-j MV-60.
I actually tried a V12R in my system before I retubed the c-j. The V12R with stock Ruby tubes in Triode mode beat the c-j in the mids sounding more purer and having less electronic glare. But with the Mullards in place it's much closer and the Mullards aren't lean sounding. But if you retube the Cary V12R with Mullards then things change again.
I really like the Mullards but when I heard a brief sax solo on the Van Morrision cd it wasn't as convincing as the Svets rendition which had better tone colour/vividness. I use to play the sax when I was younger so I know how difficut this instrument is to reproduce.
