I rebuilt a Dynaco. I put some silver mica caps in it that never seemed to break in(I just don't like them) so I replaced them with some Wima. Big difference. The coupling caps were also replaced with Auricaps. In the past Auricaps made a massive difference in the positive once in place but with the Dynaco, for whatever reason, they seemed to take 200-300 hours and got significantly better. And I wasn't sitting listening to the amp most days so I really think it was break-in of the caps and not my ears. Give it some significant time, if it doesn't work and you realize one day that you just aren't listening like you used to swap them out for something else.
