Thanks!I opened it up and the rectifier has AC, the cap holds voltage and the rectified DC is at 7.2 volts or so with no front end tubes in sockets. All connections that I can see are solid. Once even one tube is added the DC voltage out of the rectifier drops to 0.25 volts. The tube is good and it's filaments light up in the other amp.
I conclude that the KBPC3502 rectifier has gone bad and will replace it tonight with a fresh part. There is a small chance that the secondary winding has a semi-bad connection, but I really don't want to think about it...
