Connecting headphones to ARC D70 ???

Can I?
I know that the high impedence of my phones (250 ohm) means that it's not quite as rediculous as it sounds (ie they won't explode :) but I'm unsure about the common negative of the headphone cable. Can I safely connect the negatives of the D70 speaker terminals or is this a total no-no??
