I used an eraser to clean the pins on some NOS headamp tubes that I had previously cleaned with alchohol and Q-tips, and there was all kinds of black gunk on the eraser that the alchohol/Q-tips had missed. There was a major improvement in the sound of the tubes after having cleaned them with the eraser.
I had one of those big pink erasers laying around the house and I cut slices off of it do the cleaning with. You can custom cut the slices as thin or as wide as you need to fit the tube pins you want to clean.
