Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I tried a quad of the EH 6CA7 fat bottles in my Conrad Johnson MV-55 and am very pleased with the clear clean sound. (The rest of my tube set is early 1950's 12AX7 RCA black plates and Sylvania VT-231's. I had previously alternated between EH EL34 and JJ EL34L power tubes.)
Question: Is there a sonic advantage if I were to use actual NOS Sylvania 6CA7 fat bottles rather than the Electro-Harmonix's?
If so where would I hear the difference?
Thanks in advance for your input!
