A few years ago I was attempting to play a CD through my tube amp.
I had inadvertently turned the selector switch to the wrong position
on the preamp but thinking that I had the volume all the way down
I turned it up and lo and behold the music started emitting from the
power tubes.Of course it was just barely audible but fascinated with this I played
with the volume knob for a few seconds and the sound would go up or down with the volume setting.I don't know what this is but it can't be microphonics, that is caused
by external vibrations shaking the internal structure of the tube.
In this case there were no external vibrations.Cal
