My tubes don't sing, but my transformers hum (they forget the lyrics).Microphonics involves mechanical vibrations affecting the electrical signal (output) of the tubes. These vibrations are transmitted through the chassis or through the air to the glass envelope of the tube and into the internal components and change the signal. Microphonics are a type of feedback or distortion. The effect of the sound would be heard through the speakers (impact the signal of everything downstream). If you are hearing the tube itself making a sound (with your ear to the tube) this seems like it would be the glass envelope vibrating. It is what contributes to microphonics, but is not the definition of it. IMHO
In any event tube dampeners (and/or chassis isolation) should muffle these singers if you so wish, or you could sing along, if you know the words.
