Budrew,TS 5687 is a great tube, but maybe cryoeing affect it negatively (assuming that tubes were well broken-in)? Next thing - you can try various 6X5 rectifiers to adjust for proper overall tone. Or if you have a new M3 - also ECL82 and OB2.
