hmm, I thought it did, but I could easily be mistaken. In fact, I'm not even sure of the tube type other than it's a short ST that 'looks' like a regulator. I'll check it again. I didn't see any elemental mercury in the base from a cursory look before I left- I was just feeling that retreat was the better part of bravery in this case.
I also notice that I redundantly repeated myself in my first post...eh, I'm half crazed anyhow.I also found this link on mercury vapor rectifiers:
