Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Hi all,Just a quick question: I know V1 and V2 are the phono and V3 and V4 are the line stage valves: if I am trying to do some tube rolling to see which ones I like where, am I correct in thinking if I am playing a CD then V1 and V2 are not in the sonic loop, so I can just go about changing around V3 and V4 to see if I can hear any difference between tubes?
Also, are all 4 valves used when playing vinyl?
I'm just trying to minimise the number of valve permutations I may have to keep changing....
Cheers,
Fraser

- If you use NOS or current new tubes - - ruffscruff 19:57:56 03/22/06 (0)
- Nice work Thom - Also very important to have "electrically decent" tubes in all sockets. (nt) - ruffscruff 19:46:54 03/21/06 (0)

- Well, sort of. Vs 1, 2, and 3 ARE the fono-stage tubes, and Vs 4, 5, and 6 ARE the line-stage tubes. - jeffreybehr 18:19:26 03/22/06 (0)

- Actually - V4, V5 and V6 are all line - but you have the right idea. (nt) - ruffscruff 19:59:44 03/22/06 (0)
