You dont have to glue it back but its so simple to do and it gives you peace of mind so its not rocking on its base..Its such a simple fix and I have literally done many kt66s and never had a problem..I would do it because if you or someone else is near the amp and they bump that tube its going to be bad..If its glued to its base properly,it has a better chance of not getting ripped out of the base and I have seen it happen once..Luckily it wasnt on an expensive gec tube.
