If that hum is exceptionaly loud the amp puked a filter cap no doubt.You know its a known fact that electrolytics caps that are used for filtering can go bad just sitting around..You might as well say a filter cap is bad.If you know how to use a voltmeter I can tell you how to test the filter caps.I think in the quicky amps its a blue or a gray filter sticking up on the chasis vertically.
