552 : '55 (most likely) week 52 or last quarter. Some used only weeks 13, 26, 39, 52 to indicate the quarter, some used actual week. as for teh one digit year - they didn't think they had to worry about ten years later... let alone fifty!Ludwell Sibley's book _Tube Lore_ has a page or two on date coding, but mainly '30s-'40s.
