Pops are usually associated with DC. Your switch might be seeing some DC voltage in the switch of that channel. If you have a meter you can confirm. One of the caps is probably leaking a little bit. In the relm of caps, those are exactly cheap ones compared to the higher priced offerings out there. I am running a pair of 1000v Silver paper in oils that list for about $150 for the pair. Yours are probably in the $10 to $20 range. Cheaper caps, however, are usually no more prone to failure than expensive ones when used in their ratings.Given that the switch in your preamp is more than likely just grounding the output jacks, DC is about the only thing that would cause noise to appear.
