I've got a couple of Velodyne subs and both died. I found a guy that fixed them and changed out the caps. There are a couple of weak points: 1) The caps need to be glued in even more than the pic to keep them for vibrating and 2) Keeping them on all the time over heats them over time.
I bought some cheap Teckin Smart Sockets to limit heat by turning them off. I program them to turn on and off and also turn them on and off via a switch on the side. I have mine to come on at 5PM and off at 11PM. I also can easily turn on the subs when it's for other occasions.
As I mentioned, my amps died. However, considering the vibrations, it might be a bad solder connection or maybe a cap lead broken.
