I had mentioned that in my original post last night as example of one that faired well without I xover but AA went offline and that post never made it.
When I reposted my answer this AM I had forgotten to remention the A25 as one of the few.
Most, if not all the Advents under Kloss did have xovers on the woofers, OLA and NLA are prime examples.
I'm fairly certain that the AR Legacy units were a budget issue more than a technical preference.
And in an odd way so was the A25, but the various SEAS 25 used were some forgiving gems and still to this day are due respect for performance beyond their humble construction
