Too many hard, shiny, reflective surfaces. Need a generous application of thick carpets, tapestries, drapes, and overstuffed cloth-upholstered furniture, if not overpriced "audiophile" gimmick products.

Using the handclap test before and after furnishing will tell you a lot about echo. Long reverb time = bad sound. No way around it.
