You're right. ESL's probably wouldn't be a good solution for a bedroom, but more to the point about changing design approach.
Maybe the Treo would be a better move though. I moved from Vandy 2Ci's to 3A Sigs before jumping technologies and was very happy with the improvements in the model level move. Clearly you like the Vandy sound. I know I did. If you go the Treo route, the question then becomes CF or not?
That's a value judgement you'd have to make.
