Von Schweikert speakers can be loaded with SAND

I purchased a set of Von Schweikert VR4JR speakers a couple of days ago (demo model). Man are they NICE!!!

As you may likely know already... Von Schweikert has recommended loading their speakers with lead buck shot. Well I called Von Schweikert to ask the details on this, and Jason at Von Schweikert told me that they are now recommending using PLAYGROUND SAND rather than lead shot. He told me that Albert now recommends loading each of the VR4JR speakers with 12.5 pounds of sand.

So I went to Lowes and bought a bag of sand. Last night I carefully measured out the prescribed 12.5 pounds for each speaker and loaded each speaker. The sand seems to have done a nice job of making the bass sound even more defined. Don't know how lead shot compares to sand in terms of sonic quality, but I will say that sand is a lot easier to come by and it's easy to work with.

Just thought I'd share this info about the sand with y'all.
