Just finished listening to Neil Young's Living With War and I find the CD to be one of the worst recordings I have heard in a very long time. I do not have a problem with the content, it is the horrendous quality of the recording, smeared sonics and compressed dynamics. What is going on here? I know that Neil Young has gone on record about his disdain of CD sound. I don't understand how an artist of his stature could release a recording of such poor sound quality.Has Neil Young simply sold out by releasing a disc of such poor sonics? Does this recording simply reflect utter disdain for the CD medium? The sonics are simply appalling. I am in sympathy with Neil's position on the war, it is the sonics that I take issue with. I would like to know why a recording of such poor quality was released?
