I like them, but I'm not a huge fan. What they do is right up my alley--Ramones, Cheap Trick, AC/DC kinda stuff--but when a band is as derivative as they are I usually prefer it be accompanied by, I don't know, something...something more than they have. That they're female is a good novelty, but honestly, I think Jet is better, the White Stripes, etc. What they do is probably more to my liking, though, than, say, the Strokes...and way more so than the Killers, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, that sort of thing. But if you're going to do it straightforward & simple, that ground's been plowed more than just about anything else, so I look for a little something extra there...otherwise I'm just fine with my Ramones & AC/DC recs.If you like them, though, I have a strong recommendation: the Muffs. Not an all-girl band, but on their early singles & first album it was two girls & two guys. After the first album they became a three-piece, one girl, two guys. When I first heard them I thought they sounded sorta like the Ramones, with Joan Jett singing, only better, doing poppy, almost Beatle-y, songs. Their debut is just about my favorite rec from the 90s. After that, the 2nd album is good, and then the sort of diminishing returns that are typical of a lot of bands. The Donnas have probably made stronger all-around recs this far into their career, from what I've heard. But I don't think they've ever done anything that's in the same universe with the first Muffs album.
