But I do like polkas in the vein of Frank Yankovic.... I also like Burt Bacharach and Lawrence Welk.... (Don't care for Yanni, however.)
I even like disco.... You know.... Barry White, Donna Summer, etc...

I wouldn't call the Rippingtons "jazz".... The jazz I like is done by Coltrane, Adderley, Getz, Ellington, Satchmo.... The contemporary jazz I like are from artists like Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Dave Grusin....
Folk and bluegrass are more of a "mood" thing.... (Check out the Wailin' Jennys....)
I personally prefer "slow" blues.... This is one hole I need to fill....

I like metal.... Judas Priest, Metallica, Puya....
I like Sir Mixalot for rap.... At least it keeps my attention.... (The problem I have with rap is the sheer "sameness" between tracks. It's the antithesis to "eclectic.")

I listen to mostly jazz.... Although in recent time, Aleks Syntek (Mexican rock/pop star) has skewed my balance of music.... I need to return to my "classical roots." I might bring Furtwangler's Beethoven into my travels... Another hole is "early classical".... Need more Vivaldi....

I'd guess most of those who post on AA are in the "upper 5 percent"....

I also enjoy old-school R&B.... The Four Tops can bring me to tears....
