Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Sigiswald Kuijken!

Couldn't agree with you more on Kuijken. I first heard him on "St. Paul Sunday Morning" on public radio. I had missed the introductory talk beforehand, coming in during his playing. Within a few measures, I knew I would be staying by the radio for the remainder of the music and the name of the performer. The next day, I was out looking for the CD. Beautiful, beautiful performances.

At that time, the only other recording of the solo violin works I'd heard was by Heifitz. For me, in these pieces, Kuijken seems to get closer to the heart of Bach's music.
