I think most would agree with you this time, Clark. I do believe that the first Szeryng set (which was recorded in France and won him the Grand Prix du Disque when it first came out circa 1954) is now finally out on CD, though not easily found in the U.S. The reissue Columbia Odyssey LPs are fine, though, and not all that hard to find. It's the original French LPs that sell for big bucks. I also think it would be hard to deny that all the Bach violin recordings you mention are great ones.
