What improvement can be expected with NOS DAC upgrades?

What improvement can be expected with NOS DAC upgrades?

Would they become more Delta Sigma-like with better dynamics and extended high and low frequencies?

Or more of the same type of sound but better? Such as clearer, smoother, with less distortion? Maybe call it more refined?
