I Do not think you are wrong, these are Chinese made R2R DAC's aim to obtain analog sound from CD/Streamer , basic version comes with coax input can support 24 bit but if you want higher resolution any qualified electronics technician or your self can add JL Sounds usb module around $75 to make this excellent tremendous value Dac 16,24, 32, resolution and DSD Capability. even without any mods this basic tube Dac really sounds very analog although LTA Audio AERO Dac Utilize 6SN7 OR 12SNT Tubes (buyers choice) really sounds excellent but hefty $3,5 K Price on it. personally I love it with my Aurender streamer it sounds much much better than my McIntosh D150 DAC.There are some available on eBay by China sellers.
