I use a stock JD100 (well it has some damping sheets applied internally but that's it) and would highly recommend a tweaking with a better power cord (I'd recommend a shielded design) and footers (I use the el-cheapo Focul Pods for Parts Connection).

I my case I consider these two tweaks mandatory to get the best from the player.
