It's prudent to have a healthy scepticism whenever anyone wants you to give them money, and on first reading about 'burn-in' I assumed it was a case of manufacturers wanting you to acclimatise to the sound of their gear when your first impression of it being terrible was probably right.This all changed when I bought my first silver interconnect which did indeed sound terrible straight out of the packet, but to ensure I didn't get acclimatised I burned the cable in upstairs without listening to it again until the recommended period was over.
In short, the cable was transformed.
