NEC code is bare minimum electrical safety standards. NEC could care less how your audio system sounds. Is it electrically safe?
What matters when choosing the branch circuit wiring for feeding audio equipment?
The type of branch circuit wiring used and the wiring method used for its' installation can/does make a difference.
I recommend 2 conductor with ground MC (Metal Clad) aluminum armored cable.
MC NOT AC armored (frequently referred to as BX) cable.
