Accuphase 40th Anniversary Edition ( Cloned ) IC's

Hi All,

Being the constant hoarder of all different types of IC's | PCs | SCs and isolation footers, and never feel the desire to just let something's be without at the very least seeing what's possible these days from some of the more creative minds in China.

As mentioned earlier I spotted several cables | cords being offered somewhere else at prices of which caused me to take a very deep breath, especially taking into account I saw these cables being offered on both eBay | AliExpress at very very very nice prices, which has of late caused me to seriously rethink my old spending habits, of feeling the average prices for said cables | cords were priced at $398 for a then decent pair entry level of IC's, or power cord, where SCs around $500, here I'm referring to around 1987-1993. With then brands being Monster Cable | MIT | AudioQuest ( do any of you remember their earlier offerings like the Lapis | Emerald | Black IC's? ) | StraightWire | Transparent Audio | Apex | Desert Cactus Cables | Kimber Kables, all of which were in turn followed by companies like Audience | Zu Audio | Harmonic Technologies | Acoustic Zen circa 2000 and onwards.

Yet this story ends up in having had these little very inexpensive IC's which were just laying here for the last 2 days, finally be placed into my main system after having discussed via a PM between myself | ABliss on the different merits of pure copper and pure silver cables and so on, which in turn got me thinking about other means of voicing " Mi-Fi " to better suit my ears | heart | preferences more so than others. Let's just say for a moment that what I was greeted with, caught me off guard in more ways than one..., here was a type of musicality in which I didn't hear when I had owned IC's priced between $395-$600-$945 which were in themselves pure copper based designs, of which were all later sold off once I became fond of one's made from both silver plated copper, followed by my current favorite sterling silver IC's ( PCs | SCs where I've hoarded 4-6 types of either pure copper | silver plated copper is a story for another day ) but as for the "HEAR | Now ", I can fully understand why someone was trying to market these cables at a even higher price, as their sound is more akin to what one would've to expect from a costlier cables, but reading between the lines, as said person changed out the RCA | XLR connectors from what appears as gold plated brass?, to so form of rhodium plated whatever metal based material?, I've to assume to add a little bit more sparkle or snap to the mix, makes prefect sense.

All this to say once again, while I've been very aware for a very long time now that some look down on so-called Chi-Fi based products | cabling as nothing more than ripoffs, I view it as what it is..., cultures as I've long seen it from the likes of technology driven people from Germany | Japan | Taiwan | Poland, and currently the Chinese have caught in very quickly in learning from pass mistakes in how to prefect something as it relates to cabling technology which rivals domestically made items..., being someone whom has always read foreign mags or eZines from sites like Mono & Stereo | High Fidelity | Sound Rebels | Hi-Fi Advice | Hi-Fi Knights ( all via Poland ), it's nice to just acknowledge said growth from a more global perspective than ignore the growing threads outside of the USA or Canada for that matter, to not be open minded to change in and of itsejf is a limited factor these days, of which I'd only say " snap out of it ", and never knock anything unless you've actually taken it upon yourself to listen.

At prices like $16-$26, I'd ask what is there to lose?, and besides that, what if you find yourself freeing up some extra funds in which could ( and should ) be spent on music, isn't that in the end what this shared hobby was meant to be about?, music first, and then see building a system which plays it extremely well as secondary, no!.

I should add the pure copper IC's of which I've owned in the past were from companies like AQ | Audience | Zu Audio | Harmonic Technologies | Acoustic Zen | Zavfino | Siltech | In-Akustik | LessLoss |Jena Labs | Chord Co. of which none of them remain, yes..., the times are indeed a changing, and for the betterment of man and woman kind from where I sit.

Growth | the undiscovered frontier.
