Good morning dcuhl,
You're correct, said innermost parts with the blades as Tangram refers to them were replaced with the original housing | as he used the brand Copper Colour which are reported as sounding better than the later versions of Viborg, as Duster mentioned years ago began placing some form of deoxidized onto their copper plugs | I selected to go with the Monosaudio M109R AC Male ( as I like their 3-4 layering system anyway ) used with one of their midlevel Copper IEC Female types as both use copper as their base metal, as opposed to brass like said stock versions on this otherwise simply beautiful sounding cord.
Lastly thanks for the kind words | as I do feel a sense of obligation to share said discovers | if for no other reason hoping other with sample these things for themselves | while saving a few dollars in the process, the reality of it is, if one was to take a moment to seriously look into just how many of these power cords ( conductors ) | power plug connectors are actually made domestically?, we would more or less stop knocking so-called Chi-Fi, because just about everything within one's modern homes these days is sourced from some form of Asian culture one way or the other. As I've read it, they really don't want to buy American made automobiles, and in truth.
My wife I I always much preferred Japanese or German, hell even Korean made cars, it's not being biases in so much as logical..., there are times where every country has to be willing to admit to lack of QC issues, not all employees take pride in what they build. No shame in one noticing said patterns and selecting to buy elsewhere.
Otherwise one has to ask, what's the origin of said things?, or the beginning of human mind itself?.
