Hi Everyone,
I have a nice 1978 vintage Philips "plastic fantastic" table with the touch control settings. It works flawlessly in all respects except for one: There is a loud static sound through the speakers when the arm is lifted or lowered, either manually or upon auto return. The problem was fixed by a repair guy in Daytona Beach when we had a place down there but now we're up in Boston year around and it's reappeared. The guy down there happened to be a fan of these old tables and said he knew what the issue is.
Any idea on what causes this and who I might reach out to for a repair? I'd hate to retire the table, but that might be it's fate if I can't find someone who knows these tables.
Thanks for any input!
Josh
