Akai and United Audio, worked on hundreds, maybe thousands of them. Wouldn't have either one now in a system designed to be listened to, they're just too old. You would need a ton of test gear just to see if they meet the specs of their day. Difficult to imagine any R2R from that era that doesn't have bad heads, or a Dual that doesn't need tonearm wires, a new headshell or platter/motor/tonearm bearings. They might be worth the risk at $10 each, but I'd probably just buy a good lunch instead.
