Hi Steve O,
I still have a pair of these. So, you want to be confrontational ? I never intended on any argument. I did not present an argument, only another set of thoughts. These Dukane amps can sound very good, stock, which I cannot say about many Altec sound reinforcement amps. This hobby is more about how gear sounds with our other gear, matching of components for a good sounding system. A technical mumbo jumbo term would be synergy.
When you go audio shopping, do you bring test equipment or your ears ? Most of us might bring a familiar record or cd, but very few of us buy on specs, You know that the specs are inadequate. I think you are just trying to be argumentative. Lighten up. Maybe you should listen to your system more. Go to some acoustical music concerts and train your ear to how music sounds live. Eventually, you can trust your ears.
