Its become a mulicultural society we live in and kids tend to follow this rap crap and all the videos that go with it where they see some street gang carrying a boom box and they want to identify with this..Fortunately they usually grow out of it with a good musical upbringing and they abandon the boom box and the associated music and culture that goes with it..If they have a variety of tastes in music like rock and strings and classical that they hear from movies they go to or country or techna,they will eventually appreciate a nice tube amp.Listening to rap which is all bass and vocals,a tube amp will not be appreciated unless you have one with lots of power and slam..Give them a couple years or give them guitar or piano lessons and I will bet they will love the tube amps and a turntable just as my friend's 21 yo son does..My daughter is happy with her denon receiver and polk speakers shes using in the dorm and she said dad,the room is too small for a good sound system and shes right..She is content for now.
