what if I replace the P13MH for a P13WH


The P13WH would only need a lowpass at 4KHz and the big bad cap in the midsection would be eliminated. I don't feel so bad about a big cap in the low section because it's probably a lot less audible.

The challenge would then be to tune the woofer on to the natural rolloff of the midrange, I have no idea if this would be possible at all. Another problem might be that the P13WH would be in a <10L sub-enclosure, which will probably limit the bass response. I might even feed the woofer from a different amp and go active.. but I'm probably getting a little over enthousiastic now.

On the other hand, these drivers can be had for as little as $40 a piece, so I might as well get a pair and give it a try.
