Yes, that's part of my question - what types are used where and why? The potential, specific applications I'm looking at are a bench powersupply, a tube tester, and audio amps and preamps. I'd like to know more about diode choices. What is used for what application and why.If there's a good reference or primer somewhere I'd be happy to look at it.
