...and his passions are very focussed. I've known him since 1980 and spent many an hour at his High End Audio shop in the Beaches of Toronto. He has vast experience in everything from the value end of audio to the super-expensive high end and he was always very generous sharing his time and knowledge of best buys in each category. For decades he's been tracking classical music catalogues for cherries and he freely gives out that info as well. I've never found him pretentious but he is brutally honest and true to his perceptions, even when it costs him. IIRC he hails from NYC originally and maybe explains his some of his feisty Big Apple style.
He was there at the beginning of modern high end and I've always found his viewpoints to be another window on the world of audio; would miss him if he wasn't there.Brian
