He is into small (but he calls pure) amps. I too agree that small amps are easier to make closer to perfect, but small amps compromise speaker choices. And that speakers are the worst in the whole hi-fi chain to get right.My preference is to choose the best speakers, then work out what amps I need. Ultimately IMO I get closer to what I want. I don't understand the concept of having the best and purest 5 watt amplifier that can only drive "highly distorted" (only in my opinion - I know some people love them) horn loaded speakers.
Other than that, I find him a good alternative read. He does get into a jam sometimes when he reinvents definitions to describe sound. A bit pedantic in that way.
