Dear Frank,I assume you mean CCS on the plate vs anode choke?
I have used both. For me the CCS on the plate only sounded good with a good resistor (miller/riedon) between CCS and plate dropping most of the voltage (in my case b+ 400V - 250v Va - 9V or so for the CCS). Without this R I experienced a nasty 'glare', but it was the most 'forward'. If you want this, than a R between CCS and anode equal to driver Rp should work fine.
Although IN MY SETUP WITH MY EARS the CCS+R was slightly more dynamic with less compression at bigger amplitudes, I choose the anode choke at the end for its better tone and communicative power. Note that a combination of CCS and choke is a nice option too.
A frien of my preferred the CCS + small R so this is really a matter of taste.
Hope this helps,
NC
