You are right....but....

(and no offense to the good Dr.) have you, in your personal experience, found the absolute value of a grid leak resistor (as long as it did it's intended job properly) to make much difference in the amount of low bass? Anything is possible and I don't mean to imply otherwise it just had not been my experience with grid stoppers. Truth be told I picked up the 100 ohm resistors as that is what you had speced on your PP1/PP2 schematic. I figured if they would tame a 6922 they should be okay for a 6cg7. If I have time after work this afternoon I'll put the 1K's back in place and see if I hear a difference.

I do understand the interaction between the output coupling cap size in my preamp and the grid choke on the grid of the voltage amp stage in the power amp but was not clear if there might be something else that would account for an increase in bass. I doubt I am driving the voltage amp into grid current with the preamp so I don't see blocking as a problem.
