Leaving the source on for a bit after turning off the amp does not bleed the caps. If you mean that you hang around a few secs & listen to the music dwindle away after turning the amp switch off, well that happens ONLY because the tubes are still physically quite hot & the caps are fully charged, thus draining somewhat. But as soon as the tubes cool just a little they will no longer pass current (yet they are still plenty hot enough to burn fingers) and thus no more cap current drainage. There will be plenty of charge remaining. Some circuts employ resistors across the caps for bleed purposes and others do not, but in each case the dwindling sound does not indicate a fully discharged cap. If this dwindling sound lasts for more than a few seconds, the caps are leaking current badly and should be replaced for proper power supply operation.
